Parents are gone....So Averi goes blogging!
So I know this is my mothers blog and all...but the password and username are just sitting right here, calling my name. And with the parents just about out of town, I thought, Hey why not! What do I have to loose?
That's right! I said it the parents are gone!...This week my dad had some meetings in Cali, and so my mom took the opprutunity and went with him. (I'm still waiting for my turn! haha)...With the thought that Lisha was down at school, and still 3 of us at home. Who would be able to watch us? Well Only one name came to mind. Yep you all probably guessed it... Averi Harman. Who better to watch 2 Amazing boys for a week, then their sister herself? haha a couple contracts later, which consisted of only a few minor terms and conditions. I had signed in agreement to a week of my own vacation. Kind of. haha Mason will be staying with some friends in Declo, while Greggor and me will be partying it up at home. haha which will consist of Bagel Bites and Mt. Dew... Just about every night.(Tashie Lisha no comment).. and Random trips to Taco B. and Midnight Ice Cream runs. haha k maybe not quite midnight....but you get what i mean...I am looking forward to this week of new found Responsibility...and might i add...Lisha how old were you again when you first got to stay home alone? haha....Well i am out... Loves... -Ave

A Piece of Cake...

For our ward's Blue & Gold Banquet this year, we had a "Father & Son Cake Decorating Contest." Mason and I baked the cake Monday night and froze it. (I had to help a little.) Wednesday after school, we started making frosting. We made bright yellow, flesh color, and black. The black was so black we used the whole bottle of black cake coloring. We also bought a package of fondant that came in primary colors. Greggor and Mason rolled out the fondant into a nice thin layer. (We learned about fondant from "Ace of Cakes.") We found a cartoon-like scout boy in a old cub scout clip art book. We took the clip art and enlarged it300 times, then the boys cut the picture apart and then put the pattern on the fondant and cut the fondant out.....Talk about alot of work! So we were 2 hours into the cake decorating and no Dad....at 5:45 p.m. Dad FINALLY walked in the door. I handed him the cake decorationg bag full of black frosting and told him to have fun. We found out something new about Gregg....he has a hidden talent for cake decorating. HAHA, who would of known! Twenty years with the man and I had no idea. (Notice the "detailed" border he also added. Haha!)So at 6:25p.m. Gregg finished the cake and off to the church we went. We arrived just after the opening prayer and everyone watched us with the cake as we set it next to the others on the table. We sit down and enjoyed our lovely feast of sloppy joes. :) The scout master then came over and asked Gregg if there is any reason why they should disqualify him on decorating the cake......of all the nerve! I was a little upset! I only helped a little, and besides I had no part in the actual decorating part.
So we went home with the top winner that night. Greggor and Mason won a fake "leatherman" knife
with a matching razer blade (don't worry the razer blade is in a safe place) Not to toot our own horn, but the boys cake was so dang cute! Martha Stewart sure would be proud!
